We adopted a hippo! One of the coolest things at Atomic were these adorable hippos. About mid-way through the day we spotted a woman passing by with a huge stuffed hippo in her arms. Intrigued, we asked it's origin and the new adoptive parent pointed us towards the LB, Lucas Bags booth, towards the middle of the huge auditorium filled with DIYers and indie designers.
After talking to the friendly sister duo from Lucas Bags, I found out more. The sisters are proud to introduce their new Hippo Sect. The sisters make these beautiful, one-of-a-kind stuffed animal hippos and a portion of each sale goes to the IUCN/SSC, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, for Hippo Conservation. Hippos with a purpose. Nice work, ladies!
We adopted this orange button-eyed buddy, and clearly, he has gone over very well with everyone. Being comforting and cuddly, the perfect pillow and made out of recycled materials, we love the new addition to our nest. Look at his precious posterior.
Here is
Adrien's Hippo with her dog Ezro. Clearly friends at first sniff.

How can we get a hippo too?!
Good question!
The rad sisters of LB said their website would be up and running in the next few weeks. I just contacted the ladies at Atomic to see if they have more info for us in the meantime. The Hippos are totally worth it!
