Twisted Silhouettes

Species by the Thousands does a nice homage to the old-fashioned black profile silhouettes, that is both unique and pretty hilarious.

Each design of theirs sold in several local Brooklyn shops, is hand-painted by the artist onto a fresh, new piece.



I would love one of these 'couples' platters, glasses or plates. I love the spin on what makes me think of a 1970's music video for "Air Supply". Pretty hilarious, while being quite beautiful. The perfect combo. I think one of their platters would make a great non-traditional wedding gift.




From shoes to dishware to jewelry, each piece is one-of-a-kind, or only produced in a limited run, making their designs pretty rare and special.
