Paper Cutting

Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely holiday and a very Happy New Year! I am back working on lots of fun new projects for 2010, and hope you stay with me to see what's in store.

My home decor show Decor It Yourself is back with it's first episode of 2010 with Paper Cut Art. Click on the link to view the episode and comment.

I have been really into paper cutting but just took the craft on myself. Still a beginner I have been playing with some simple, fun techniques like these pop-up houses, antlers, and animal scene.

For way more experienced artist's paper cut art, check out my Paper Round-Up blog post.

I am not embedding the videos in an attempt to save your ear drums if they automatically start playing upon visiting the site. Is this easier or more difficult for you? I'd love to hear your preference.

Paper cutting have always amazed me. These are all so beautiful. I think its the amount of work each piece takes that really gets me.

I admire you for taking paper cutting on. The precision involved is extraordinary! Have you ever heard of the fine artist Kara Walker? She has some amazing works made of cut paper. Most of her work deals with Imperialism, but the pieces are beauty to the eye.
