Normally I shy away from re-makes of favorites or classic films, as they often pale in comparison. But the new HBO portrayal of the enigmatic Edies of Grey Gardens that airs on April 18th looks haunting and fascinating.
Drew Barrymore's vocal work is shockingly accurate and Jessica Lange is captivating as always. I am now counting down the days until we return to Long Island, and pear into the doors of a dilapidated house.

I know! I totally agree. I was terribly upset when I heard they were remaking it, and worried it would be cheesy/hollywood/disaster and the only ones who liked it would be those who didn't understand the original to begin with. BUT low and behold it actually looks great!
