'The Graduate' is one of my all-time favorite films, and this particular scene is SO aesthetically up my alley. I want to use this as the inspiration for an entire room some day. The black and white striped awnings, the vintage "bar" sign, the lush green back-drop that almost looks jungle-esque.

Director Mike Nichols sets up each shot as if it were a painting, creating a composition that exquisitely propels the story forward.

Little known fact: The famous legs in the movie poster belong to Linda Gray, aka. SUE ELLEN from "Dallas".

We have a very exciting and heart-warming announcement to make in the Cole household. We have adopted a brother for Gracie Strudel!

Meet Milo "Shoeshine" Cole, our one-year-old rescue beagle from Sugarmutts Rescue.

Milo is a very sweet, smart and loving companion for all of us. He is very curious about all of the sounds of the city, can not believe how lucky he is to have so many squeaky toys to play with, and absolutely adores Miss Gracie.

We are enjoying him so much already, and my heart melts watching this canine friendship grow each day.

Upcycled Pendant Lanterns

I must say, I LOVE how the lanterns turned out for my Earth Day episode of Decor It Yourself. This is one of those projects I had been designing in my brain for quite some time and finally executed for the show. This is how they look hanging in our home.

My taste certainly isn't for everyone, but they suit us just fine. I particularly dig the chicken wire's industrial look mixed with the delicacy of the antique spoons. The vintage tin house numbers and sign letters make for a really unique look.

What crazy ideas do you have floating around in your brains that you just haven't gotten around to making yet?
