Amy Sedaris is WRITING A NEW BOOK! The new book will be on crafting, and is scheduled to come out in 2010. I am currently reading When You Are Engulfed in Flames, by her brother David, and plan on only reading books by the Sedaris children from now on.
If you don't already own I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence, you should.

Williamsburg's Daily Footprint

One of my favorite parts of Free Williamsburg is the daily footprint. Snap shots of things seen around the ever-changing canvas of a neighborhood we live in.

Adorable Recycling

Pilot, photo taken by his dad, Garen Scribner.
Thank you, Garen, dad of Pilot for providing an up-dated photo. I had no idea it was even possible to get cuter than the last, but he did!

Please Help Us Fight MS
MS is a disease that hits me close to home. My lovely and amazing sister, Lauren, has been living with it for over two years. Each year we take a stand together as a team, against MS on our annual walk. This is our 3rd walk, and we are doing our best to raise awareness and funds for research this Saturday. If you can't be there with us this Saturday in Washington, D.C., ANY donation is greatly appreciated. You can click here to make a donation to our team, The Laurenettes, or Paypal me (meg@EnderbyDesigns.com) the money to include in my donation check. You can trust me to give every penny to fight something that means so much to my family.
Thank you for any $5, $10, even a $2 donation counts and shows your support of people living with MS, and the families who adore them.
Do you know anyone with MS? If you do, you understand how important this is. Here's to finding a cure!
***Up-Date: So far, a huge THANK YOU goes out to Thea Lornie, Polly Conway, Heather Burgher, Barbara Cole, Daisy Edwards, Anthony Carboni, Cammy McFadden, Dave Shuff, Amy Merrick, Kelly Demaree, Geofrrey Ollwerther, and to an anonymous donor! Thank you thank you. The walk was a huge success, and our team was there in full effect. We raised over $2,000 with the checks we added on the last day. I will let you know when we get the final tally.

First Bloom of Spring

This First Bloom of Spring necklace is WAY pretty and is getting me in the mood for Spring.

The shop has a variety of aesthetic splendors, including this Judy and the Dream of Horses diorama. The equestrian terrarium has a taste of Amy Merrick, doesn't it?

xoxThurmanxox

This was our Thurman. He was our first rescue, and we always keep him in our hearts and daily conversation. With the odds stacked against him Thurman was the kind of dog most people pass on. He was a senior, he was obese, he had chronic health problems and had been neglected and abused.
Let him be a reminder to never pass up on a friend because of such things. Adopt the under-dog and you will be deeply rewarded. Thurman was, by far, the best friend you could ever hope for. He was loyal and kind and had the sweetest heart. He was absolutely hilarious in everything he did. He worked so hard with us to get the weight off, and together, we gave him two years of an amazing life. He would have never given up, and loved everyone he met, despite his experiences with abusive humans.
Rescuing Thurman is one of the best things I have ever done in my life. He taught me more than I thought possible, and showed me how deeply I can love. Even when I am an old, wrinkly lady, I will think of our sweet beagle and smile.
I love you, Bubba! Always.

The Pixies Are Still My Favorite Band

While watching Pump Up The Volume, circa 1991, I heard a song that changed my life. The Pixies song, 'Wave of Mutilation' played during a pretty emo scene of the Christian Slater flick, and it made me go out and buy the soundtrack the very next day. This soundtrack introduced my 11-year-old self to The Pixies, The Descendents, Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, and Bad Brains, thus changing my life.
It's been almost two decades (egads!) and The Pixies are still my all-time favorite band. If you, for some crazy reason, don't listen to them, I HIGHLY recommend all of their albums. Please push play on your boom box and report back.

The Royal Tenenbaums

The Royal Tenenbaums makes my top movies of all-time list.
Exquisitely written and visually perfect, this is truly Wes Anderson's masterpiece.

Centered around a family, this is still one of the most romantic films of all time. Heart-pounding, goose-bump-giving romantic.

Shot in the brownstone of all brownstones in Harlem, I have watched this film over and over and each experience is richer than the last. Worth owning the Criterion Collection for the set alone.
